Would any body want to have a meet in this area.
I was thinking right in the middle of both counties, in the Tamar Valley.
All ideas are welcome.

hi daddyrob, not sure if there is a purely mk1 meet anywhere near us but a few, normally between 20-30 vw's meet up at the ten tors pub in newton abbott the last thursday of every month. sorry but you just missed the last one!

there are all sorts turn up, i've just been to my second!!! we normally meet up in plymouth and cruise up in convoy. there are a few other mk1s i've seen up there but normally leave early due to work commitments so not managed to talk to any owners yet!

try this link …..

i'd probably be up for a meet of just mk1s, just depends where and when as always!!

Devon and Cornwall meet

Ok then its time to sort out a meet in our area then.
I need a show of hands and a an idea of what sort of area or distance people would want to travel to get there and how often we should meet.

Lots of ideas needed please.

okay then everyone, here's my ten pence worth……

once a month,

somewhere in the tamar valley, selfishly close to plymouth would be nice but would travel about half hour or so. i go to newton abbot for the south west dubs meet so maybe liskeard/callington/tavistock sort of area???

at a pub or somewhere you can have a drink and serves food and with a car park not only big enough but with good, easy access for those with lowered/modified cars,

not really bothered about the day myself but some owners have families so thier thoughts are probably worth more than mine!!!

i will have keep an eye out for a venue if i see one but others may have an idea. if so i would suggest talking to the owner/manager to ask thier permission, and let him know that we are not a bunch of chavs!!!

Cheers for the response its exactly what i'm after.
I would like to meet in Plymouth as well!!!
I'm still not sure of a neutral location thought.  I don't usually travel far out of plymouth!!

i guess its just a case of seeing how many people want to meet up, if  there are only about half dozen don't think location really matters as most pubs can accomodate that. maybe you should try setting a date and see if people can come and where they are coming from and then set a location, if it grows too big then maybe a re-think !!!

Ok how about the 6th of September.
Let me know everybody.
Venu to be confirmed.
I'll be checking out a few locations over the next couple of weeks, along the A386 and A30

i knew you'd say that!!!!!,

6th sep is edition 38 weekend so no chance i can do that!!!

how about a weekday?? sounds silly but a lot of people plan things for the weekends, especially this time of year. the "south west dubs" meet on a thursday and seems to be well attended.

this is where it becomes fun, not everyone can go at one time!!!

and had an brain wave. how about the Holland Inn, on the A388 just outside saltash, easy to find and quite a large car park…..

Ok we're getting some where!!  I did just pick a random weekend in the future.
I won't be able to make it any other time than at a weekend due to work and family comitments.
Holland inn would suit me, but theres a few members in north devon who are interested in attending

well like i said, this is always the problem……

i think i'd go as far as launceston, as its on the A30 everyone should be able to get there relatively easy. and the road from saltash to launceston is one of my favourites!!!
