Scirocco drag car - White lady

So my 86 scirocco gt for the price of £250 back in 2007.. as you can see it's a bit marmite and for me I had to change it!



So over 3 years she transformed to this.. overbored 16v kr, stripped out racer for track or drag


Children, ex wife and life meant I never went any further until my long term dream was put to reality.. seeing this picture from the states set me to build her for the final time..


So I am currently in the process of building with the help of one of my best mates a scirocco rwd ford 5.8, 2 speed glide in a 25.1e Promod chassis aiming for 10 sec quarters off the trailer

Wow, looks like this will end up being a right weapon! What kind of power are you expecting out of the V8? Definitely going to be keeping an eye on this!

I am going for 400bhp and probably that in torque too.. Then we will see about Nitrous around 100-200bhp if feeling brave with a change of pants lol

N/A I hope to high 10's and comfortable 9's with nos all things working out as they should.   Hoping to keep the car close to the 1 tonne mark…

 

You know it's really funny seeing what your building because it seems the modern day term for this car is a "Rocco".

But back in the day (oh how I now hate that expression) when I was selling them, there nick name in the trade was the "Skyrocket".  

Looks like if you achieve what your planning you will have done just that!

Skyrocket is the name of the scirocco registers members magazine.. 
Never called them that myself and saying rocco is just lazy English lol.
As for back in the day lol we are showing signs of old age there 

Will be an awesome machine when done and no other like it.. Got a looooong way to go with it yet
