Chop out the rear towing eye:

Then had to take out the cut out on the exhaust side to match up:

Chop out the lhd wiper inserts:

And rear the rear arch:

There's still a bit to tidy up and a small skim then it's all ready for paint
Massive thanks to James for all he's help couldn't of done it without him

Long story short
After all the problems with the paint shop etc. I ended up parking the car up and that's where it stayed for just over 2 years.
Then I had a think and put it up for sale, but then decided against it (Mainly thanks to a group of good friends that talked me out of it)
The topic about what I'm going to do with the car came up again on New Year's Eve. It was decided to clean it up a bit and start using it again to regain the love.
Unfortunately the quick clean up has gone a little ott
So a new plan has been started
So here goes
Engine -
1.8t aum (ko4)
Full strip down and rebuild
Body work -
bare shell
Removing all the bad workmanship from the joke of a bodyshop
Repairing any rust etc
Repaint and smooth bay
Maybe even get it back on the road for the 2018 show season
At the moment it is stripped and off to the fab shop tomorrow (a good trusted welder) for some repairs and mainly I managed to find a Jetta front panel to go back on
Started with a bit of dewrapping

Then stripping out the inside

Then onto the jig (modeld my the one and only RobG60)

Then the joys of underseal

And then to the engine bay

So it's off tomorrow for some welding repairs and a few extra then the fun of paint prep begins

Going back to the original colour
I have had any rust removed and repaired
Original front end fitted
And smoothed the bay
The underside has been coated in upol raptor bedlinner
Repainted the inside
Carrying on with the body prep - it's slow going but I'm learning as I go
