Had a chat to the local garage re the suspension - parts & labour over £500!!! i said about 2nd hand & what i could get with 25k mileage for the price & he said go for it! so i did, went to Exeter Saturday morning, got the shocks & springs at a good price! Then got back to a meet at the conversion place for 12p.m. busy & could only get the van booked in for the week of the AGM - hope it's done in good time…
Booked in Tuesday for the suspension change - can't wait!

Picked it up after work, garaged managed to do them as a prior phone call said 'they've been working on them all afternoon' so i said i'll make my way for 5.30 & see where they are then... got there, cost more then expected & the wheel alignment not done... so this morning, that was the mission - up on ramps & aligned!! it really does feel a different drive. Guy in the garage said it's not bang on but almost, said with a bit of weight in it (conversion that's just under 4 weeks) it will pretty much be offset..
Got door seals to go on to 'make it sound like a Golf' when i close the doors, along with a dash rubber..
Waiting to arrange to get Cruise Control fitted too... checked i've got the right Control Module, which saves around £300. May order an Awning by Friday - June deal on... a few bits & bobs then it'll be done... got mud flaps & will see if i can fit those...

Cruise isnt that hard to retro fit yourself.
I did it to a Passat B5 a mk4 Golf and my old Leon.
Hardest bit is popping the airbag off the wheel
The rest might look scary as you have to tap into the back of the fuse box but its simple enough.
Kits with genuine VW stalks have cost me around £120 in the past and then just need VAGcom to activate it at the ECU

Goodbye my lil friend
1985 That’s the 20’s
Fitted front Mudflaps Thursday, not got around to do the rears.. maybe later today if I get chance, bit of undoing, lining up & drilling involved.. took off the chrome handle ‘Transporter’ thingy too.. can’t be doing with that #notmycupoftea
Alcohol cleaner on the inner doors & fitted the door seals. They sound so much better when closing the door, more of a solid thud.. getting there.

The securing bolts didn't exactly match holes on the mudflaps that went onto the inner bumper… pretty much marked out the holes on the inners to match the outers if tha' makes sense 1st hole 44mm from the arch..??? strange but true looks quite neat though…
next is to get the Bulkhead out, not sure if the seats have to come out to remove that… seats got to come out, though i don't want to remove those until last minute really… i'm sure they're quick release.. a bit more research needed on how to do it… as Pete Tong used to say…. we continue
