vw golf cab racer

So for years I've wanted to build a mk1 golf race car and this weekend that dream started. We are using my oldest owned car vw mk1 cabriolet 1982 and have parts car 2017 golf R - end up having full running gear of Golf R in cab with DSG and alot of custom mods. The goal is to build a vw racer that can we used to tour around various events to allow disability children to experience race car and in process raise money for various charities.

I have a very good friend of mine helping me build this in the UK and it will end up coming to USA.

One area I need to do more research on is how to make the Golf R loom work with mk1 cluster, or we might do custom dash merge. If you have insight or knowledge on this please message me.

More progress on cleaning up engine area ready for engine mock up



Engine in actually looks good in mk1 cab engine bay.


I am planning on going to the UK next month to finalize work and ordering more parts for the build. We have a long way to go, but moving in the right direction.
