Project car now compete!
i have been on here a while now, and have a mk1 capri green cabriolet (standard) and have now gone and got me another mk1 to play with. the new addition is a tintop and has been modified by
crazyquiff
i contacted Richard in November and by Feb the car was complete.
the modifications undertaken:
2.0 TFSI engine
K03 turbo
stage 1 remap
K&W coilovers (surprisingly comfy!)
2.5" stainless exhaust (produces the most awesome note!)
audi TT front leather seats
Lenso BSX alloys
Metal bumpers
uprated brakes
been wanting this car for a very long time now, and my god am i glad to have done it!
below are pictures just to show it off a little!

Drives like a dream! pulls through all the gears. turbo kicks in at about 2300rpm so feels like a diesel the way it pulls. but with all the goodness of a petrol, high revs etc! kept up with an R8 on the motorway. oh and mpg is 35 without hanging round and 40+ on a motorway cruise!

I had that engine in my mk5 gti running 265bhp and that was quick, so I bet in a mk1 it's awesome.

yea its super quick! love the engine so much. this one is mapped to 240bhp and is great fun! just got to fit an LSD to enable the power to be put down properly!

haha!
yea been looking at the quaife ATB i think its called, helical geared not clutch. costing wise, the cheapest i can find is about £650-£700 brand new, and then you have to buy some special bolts at £80 which are one use jobbies. so all in all looking at just shy of £800 and thats if i attempt the swap myself! not cheap in any sense of the word! unless someone knows of a second hand LSD going?

Absolutely beautiful colour, I'm quite sold on that.
Question - was the TT seat fitting straightforward ? How was it done ?

There is a copy of the wavtrac diff that's costs about half of the price. The lad who told me about runs 20vt 330bhp mk1 and his mate has a 800bhp mk2.jaaquo said

Thanks man! I do love to colour! I have been told the main ball ache with the seats is the height that they would sit at ifthey wernt adjusted.

here are some more pictures of the interior, the seats i have been told weren't to bad to fit. the best bit about these seats, is the rails are attached to the seat itself, so all that is required is a new frame to be welded up as u can see from one of the photos

Cheers for the interior pics. That must be a really comfy motor - nice daily - speed, fairly good economy, comfort, tonnes of smiles!!
