Just picked up this little beauty…

It was sold new in July '82 by the Sales Manager at the VW dealership in Fleet, Hampshire to his elderly father. The car was in use until 2005 when the now very elderly owner passed away, aged 102! The V5 was then put in the name of the son who had sold his father the car back in '82 and it languished in a heated garage until April 2017. I've just re-commissioned it for the road. It's a 1.5GL Auto model and is in amazingly good shape. The seats were covered from new with genuine VW seat covers- the interior is nothing short of perfect! It runs like a Swiss watch. I just need to give it a bit of a clean and a spruce-up.

I don't have the paperwork at hand at the moment, but think his surname was Hales. I have a terrible memory!

That's an amazing find. Just shows these gems are still out there.
