Looks fab, well done to all involved.
Mars Red, non sunroof, clear glass and 9 spokes, the archetypal MK1 GTi. Not that I'm biased
….(I'd have left off the spots)
Did the late 1600s have the A-pillar spoiler or was that a 1800 only thing?

I thought about leaving off the spots tbh i used to prefer them with but now I think I'm going to change to single if I can find a nice tidy grill
The late 1600 did have the pillar spoilers I have the '82 brochure with them pictured

Great to see a front wing be repaired properly in situ rather than just being ripped off with the subsiquent loss of decent gaps and broken sealer. Did you use a pattern wing as the repair panel and how did it fit to the original wing? I've yet to have to do one to this extent but its definately the way to go if possible. I've only repaired one around the aerial hole using a donor oem damaged wing as the repair panel.
Regards the a pillar trims there is debate on whether they were fitted to 1800's only when they introduced the MFA. Does the 82 brochure list the 1800 as an option out of interest. If it doesn't then this may be the answer.
