So this is my first adventure with a classic. I travelled 150 miles to find the right car for me and I came back with this

I'm part of Unphased in the north west so done a few shows in my previous car but all the shows made me do is want a mk1.

Now I also need a bit of help if anyone can point me in the right direction.
I need a manifold and weber carb for a 1.8 asap it's sat there and I can't drive it!! Cheaper the better as long as it works.

Thanks for looking Paul

Cheers pal. I'm in to minds whether to keep them or not. I'd love some 15" bbs reps so I can lose the arch gap

Thanks. It's been a nightmare trying to get one. It was running with twin 40's but I was having to many issues with them

Looks sweet. Good luck with the carb. I bought one off here complete with the manifold. Was cheap enough but needed a full strip and rebuild as it had sat for years and water from the manifold leaked on it rusting the throttle solid.

Rebuilt kit is fairly pricey as are the adapters for manifold and air box so try and get a complete running set up otherwise you might aswell just but a new kit.

thanks jay. ive had an email off a guy selling the lot for £200. carb looks in good condition but I think im gonna buy a k&n filter so I don't have to deal with the air box.

sounds right in theory but im not good with engines  :(

The K&N gets a lot of negative press on here. Personally I run one as my weber didn't come with the stock airbox adapters.

It's shot down as some people have problems with carb icing in winter and also in summer the carb is sucking hot air from the rear of the engine bay rather than cold form the front.

Anyhow mine didn't ice in the limited winter running mine had. I think some people fail to install the block heater off the old pooburg. As far as the hot air, well mine isn't a race car but still pulls fine in the high 20's heat.

K&N does look nice and gives  a great roar. It's pricey though new. I picked mine up used bolted to a weber dmtl. Same mounting. Sold the dmtl afterwards for what I paid so freebie!

Very nice motor mate.

If you're selling the twins and the manifold I'd be interested!
