Chris

Don't chuck in the towel now.

We all have down days with our cars.

Mine was the ignominy of having to get Janise to tow me back from the Dormy House car park at Gleneagles and as is the case in those instances it was raining cats and dogs at the time as well.

Now that I can see the end in sight with what needs done I look back fondly with what has been accomplished.

Your not giving up Chris. You need to finish it. It's only nuts and bolts at the end of the day.

Put it in the garage and come back to it when your less erratic

Real shame to give up on it Chris. It seems like you're so close to getting it running. On the upside, if you stick with it, once it's running there'll be nothing left to be wrong with it!

Dont give up on it bud. Good advice above. You dont need to use it at the minute, Put the garage door down, and take time out for a few days, you will feel less hostile when you get back to it!

I felt the same with mine, when i lost my rag with it i was suprised the door car stayed on!  O_o  O_o

Chris, come on.  O_o
Stop your winning because your 'Lovin It' really!
How many Golf MK1's have you owned for goodness sake?

Just take a break for a few days or weeks. It's not a race after all, is it?

The effort you go to on all your cars puts me and most likely many others to shame.  :$

So first of all, stop being so hard on yourself and secondly the car, give it time my Friend.

It's a little cracker at the end of the day and most of us would give YOUR right arm to own it!

Just think about how good and proud your going to feel when it's running oh so sweet (I know I would)!

Thanks boys, I am frustrated as its went backwards.
I need professional help if my mate can't do anything after he's fitted the new condenser and points.
At the very end it will get shipped down to Bert but it's not cheap :-(

Tomorrow I'm sealing my BBS RM's for my Sportline, so this afternoon I cleaned up the scuttle area and grill area and grill. Fitted new Hella headlights and refitted the rear seat.

New and old lights

New light in cleaned area

Dirty rear of grill and spot

Cleaned rear of grill and spot

Dirty vs clean

Spanking clean grill with new Hellas

Clean top if slam panel

New battery impact gun

Cleaned scuttle area and original tray

That's so kind thanks so much :-)

I will keep that in mind if that's what I need to do, as that would save me getting car transport both ways and save on the tickets :-)

I hope I get there with my mate helping, I have a feeling I will need to buy a new Weber that's for the car instead if the Weber that's on it.

I think its also been played with that much over the last while, when the cars had issues from the rusty filler, they haven't noticed it and tried playing with just about everything else prob making all the working things worse when not doing the filler neck !!!

I have a budget for this car and it's not very big and there's a big bill going to come to sort the paint at the end as well :-(

It still is a really solid 44k mile car though so it will be worth it in the end.

Cheers Chris
