You got to wonder if they still have staff who know how to change a set of points :P

Hope so but prob only one 😁

The guy that they got for me has a mk1 caddy with a VR6 lump in it and he certainly knew his stuff way more than me 😉

Firstly got the picnic basket out and used it as my breakdown kit.

Then changed the coolant to Evans waterless coolant so hopefully never need to touch it again.

Then a good once over for the first show of 2015 at Knockhill.

Then tucked away for tomorrow's show.

Thanks Hairyarse

Well went to Knockhill for a show/meet and although it was a modernish car show the s1 went down really well.
It never missed a beat and just turned 32k on the way home.
I think it was in the running to win best retro but I wanted away early as didn't want to be stuck trying to get out with all the meet cars and public from the hot hatch and drift day.

Next step is the Ceramic Quartz coating on the 11th May.

Can't believe I never took any pics today 😁

No pics, shame on you!! lol

I bet it was nice to get it out and drive it though.

All the tlc helps, so bought a rubber mount for jacking the car if it needs it.

Perfect for protecting the sill.

I have put it in my trolley jack cup and it's perfect.

Car goes in for its Ceramic Quartz coating on Monday for protection for the future.

I bought one of those as well to protect the car, only problem when it sits on the jack not much room to slide underneath the car, mine has a cross shape with a wider groove on one axis to accommodate different size sills.  Well worth the few pounds it cost.

Are we going to see your car at the AGM?

RichardHall

No I'm not heading down this year as I'm in Turkey for 2 weeks and only get back on the Sat evening.

I honestly couldn't see me driving the s1 down for the agm anyway as it would take me hours and there's no joy in driving the 4 speed endlessly down the motorway 😁

I would love to get it there at some point though 😉

That is a real shame was looking forward to seeing it in the metal.

If I hadn't been on hols, my mate had said we could hire a trailer and tow it down with his pick up.

It's just so far to drive down to at 50mph 😁

I've got one of those jack pads Chris, well worth the few quid.

Just make sure you don't drive off with it wedge on the flange of your sill
