If you have a cabriolet - I can't recommend one highly enough - fitted it today and noticed the difference immediately , it feels so much more firm and stiff on the road. And if you throw it around a couple of corners it's almost like driving a different car!

yes lower brace will help, but this then adds more stress to the top mounts and so you need to add a top brace too. If you really want to make it solid front and back, add rear brace to the rear too.
I have had 4 point lower brace on my mk1s for years as well as top and rear and I find it hard to drive without having them now, but I don't baby drive my mk1s.
Joe at josfablab.uk makes and provides the single lower and 4 point braces, if anyone is interested, plus other upgraded mk1 parts too.

Hey, I plan on getting one already so top one is coming next pay day!
Pretty sure I don't need a rear one as it's a cabby so it's got a huge bar across them already to make up for it not having a roof!

yes the cabs have additional structure added, but if you do alot of track racing like I do, even in my cabs I added a rear top brace and it makes a difference. for road use, not so much. The main flexing has always been at the front of the cabs.
