Found in a garden

Speaking to a bloke in the gym last week he told me his mum had a mk1 1300 mars red 3 door in her garden she wanted rid of.  Been sat there since 1995 but has genuine 64,000 from new when she bought it. It took a bit of work to get things free enough to roll it out.  Front brake callipers were removed but surprisingly the rear shoes freed up and the handbrake even worked.  A bit of fiddling and it started tonight and runs really sweet although the exhaust is blowing!

Not sure if it will ever look like my mk2!

Very nice. I can't not love a red 3 door 1.3 from 1980. Bit of work and it'll look just like mine any more pics? Back end, bay, interior etc..?

Just rooting around it at the moment so nothing yet decided.  Did only cost £100 though.

Is that what such a long folding sunroof would be called?  Do you know if they are available still?  I reckon it could be original but is it still available? Could be made by webasto possibly?

I wish I had that in my garden!

Good find mate. Give her and good clean and see what needs doing bodywork wise.

Webasto did make them for the Cabby of course but your car is about a year before I started with VW and so I don't really know if that was a special order or not.
It might have been a Dealer or third party fit and could well be made by Webasto but you'd need to speak to them.

If they don't now, I'm sure there are Companies in Germany that do.

I may be wrong but thought that all Webasto roofs had a plate, or label on them on the inside?
