Well after 8 years off road, took it for first proper drink.
Still few bits to do:
Rear suspension sat too high - may settle on use
MFA lcd screen in-op despite hours of investigation
Interior light in-op
But it's on road and historic status so not tax

Standard shocks and mounts.
I got a pair of new springs as it was sagging at rear - and now it's gone the other way 🤔

I'd £ fork out for genuine if they still exist or get some 2nd hand from someone spending £1000s to shake their teeth out 'upgrading' to coil overs
or put the originals back
or put the originals back

I'm wondering if I've been sent Cabby springs in error as they are stiffer aren't they ?
My Dolomite Sprint sat a bit high for a while after rebuild then settled back a bit.
may need to go over a few potholes !!

Not sure about the spring but the top mount is deeper/higher to compensate for the extra rear weight of the Cabrio compressing the spring

I bought :
"For VW Golf MK1 1.8 GTI Kilen Rear Suspension Coil Springs (Pair) off EBay"
Think the only thing is to strip it back and check they've seated correctly 🤔
