fuel pump relay

Hi folks,
Can someone please tell me exactly where the fuel pump relay is located on my 1998 mk1 cabrio fuse box (spade terminal type), how do I recognize it (has it specific.lettering or numbers) and can it be substituted by another relay from my board for test purposes).
Many thanks in advance,
Jim.

Hi folks,
I am looking for assistance in identifying the correct relay to check on my 1998 cabrio.
Can anyone tell me where on the fuse box the pump relay is located, how to identify it, and can it be swapped with any other relay on my fuse box for test purposes.
Many thanks in advance,
Jim.

Lay out of the relays as long as it's a GTi the fuel pump relay will possibly be No.62 relay as long as no one has changed it or fitted an aftermarket rely.

If you remove the relay below the fuel pump relay (No.18) turn it around and it should fit where the fuel pump relay is, then when you switch on the ignition (lights on dash) the fuel pump should run.

There is 2 fuel pumps on a 1988 GTi cabriolet, one underneath the car near the drivers side back wheel (main fuel pump) and one inside the fuel tank (lift pump)

Having followed the advice provided in the earlier post I have swopped relays and the fuel pump now works as it should.  I now need a fuel pump relay. I believe that aftermarket ones have reliability issues therefore any advice on where to source a reliable original relay whether used or new old stock would be appreciated. my vehicle is a mk1 1989 gti cabrio .
Thank you  in advance.
