Closest match so far, jazz blue. Most commonly found on mk4 if I'm correct. Still looks too dark for my liking

That does look very close. Can no one match it spot-on then against your car? (I'm guessing that's a daft question as you've not found a match yet! )
Lol actually that's isn't such a daft question. No one can match it considering my paint code apprentally don't exist. Really Getting stuck for ideas now

When I had some work done on my old 944 the body shop didn't want to know the paint code, they just said they'd match to my car as it would have changed colour slightly over time and their match was perfect

Oh weird. I thought nowadays they could match anything.

Hmm see that's interesting, I've heard something similar on how they can match the colour by a panel or even a photo, but I'm not actualy sure what the process is called or any other information about it. Appreciate your help mate

No worries, sorry I can't help even more. I guess it's 'only' a case of finding someone with the ability to do it.

I quiet like it myself, it's defiantly grown on me. Not many blue mk1s out there in this kind of blue. To my understandingit is an original colour . The paint code code Q5A mate

Looks a dream matey, what a first car too! It's a shame insurance is such a rip. I'm with brentachre insurance who are competitive, come the big day give them a call.
Good luck with your test too!
Thanks dude! Couldn't settle for anything but a mk1 haha. Insurance is always gunna be a rip for my age though so I guess it's gotta be expected but cheers for the heads up, I'll defiantly have a look.
Appreciated mate

New bumpers, along with new wings. Completely changed the look of a car in my opinion. Finding a colour match wasnt easy for the wings but i think they're about rightAlso fitted a new grill, i never knew what a difference it would make!

it has made a huge improvement!
This is my problem, hairyarse, ive been keeping a little secret as ive just purchased a completely standard MK1 GX. So this will now be going up for sale. I am however, coming along to the AGM, but with what golf, im not entirely sure just yet! depending on insurance purposes and other things that are out of my reach!

Looking great mate. here in South Africa we battle to find the older wings and the 3 piece grills as well as rubbers and windows for the 2 doors. But the 4 doors like yours is plenty. Good luck with the build. MK 1 was my first car as well. Problem is you don't grow tired of it. I'm still driving one today. And I got my first one in 1996. A 79' model. Best of luck and enjoy it.
Cheer mate! thats abit like me but the other way round, i wanted to purchase some interior parts (centre console) for my citi but finding parts in england are a nightmare! but thanks alot and owning just mk1 i have discovered that already! im sure ill never be without a Mk1, and good luck with yours too!
