My 83 Gti set to get full restoration

I might be,wrong mate but, with my box there is a bracket that bolts to the bottom of the block and then will bolt to them holes, but i have a 2.0l not a 1.8T so im not.sure if the 1.8T block allows for this bracket :/ that probly doesnt help but it might lol

Engine - painted/powder coated/polished/chromed/flocked/standard?

I've got some glass beads to blast the rocker cover and all the ally bits. I'll paint the rest, probably take it in to work and spray it nicely, got a carbon engine cover from Forge that I bought off Smudger. Not sure which way to go, colourwise, with the intercooler piping etc, but I'm thinking all black :)

All black is definitely the way to go

Will you do it in vht paint? Or is there something better?

Not sure yet Matt, need to do some more research, I've got some vht paint there already, so might have a try with it first to see how it looks.

Could really do with some help regarding my gearbox issue, not sure whether to just go for an 02J box now as this 02a box I bought doesn't fit :P

Sorry, no idea about gearboxes! Must be someone on here that's doing the same conversion you are?  O_o

Sorry mate, I did see it but got locked in to a game of Battlefield

I've been on the facebook page and asked the question and it's looking like I might have the wrong sump fitted.

it'll be fine chap, just multi fit bellhousing. use the bolt that does line up be more than enough. MK2/3/corrado with 020/02a gearbox with steel sump have no bolts at all under the engine and gearboxes dont fall off ;)

its for NVH purposes I'm told (noise vibration harshness)

Got the engine partially fitted today, fitted the gearbox mount and the one at the timing belt side, I've got one more mount but can't work out where it goes lol.

Here's some pics

Here's the mount in question, I'm guessing i need another bushing from somewhere?

Cheers, Andy.

From the look of the mounting holes I'd guess it bolts to the gearbox.
