Standard Mk1 Golf front struts/suspension

Hi there, Just joined the forum in the hope that someone could help me out, I am after a pair of standard mk1 golf front struts, I dont really need the spring or shock absorber, just the strut that the hub bolts too itself, think i am right in thinking that standard mk1 struts have a removeable shocker insert? Would really apreciate if any body could help me out
