Total novice trying to get my first project car running.
Hi guys.
I've got a mk1 golf Cabriolet. First project car I've owned. It's currently not running but I'm very close to getting it going. I'm a complete novice mechanically but I'm keen to learn. Fortunately I work in an auto store with a workshop and several capable mechanics, if I get stuck.
I'm getting spark, compression and fuel, after temporarily swapping the fuel pump relay with the horn. I believe a big issue is the fuel filter under the bonnet. My only query is that there is also 2 in line fuel filters under the car. Everything I've read doesn't mention these and I'm assuming they were added as a precaution. I believe this may be reducing the pressure and slowing things down.
Thanks to anyone that is able to confirm this.
