So I had been toying with the idea of a mk1 caddy for a while.
Then one night bid on one, set my price … next I'd won !.
So it's a 89-90 mk1 caddy, the engine has been swapped from the original 1.6 tdi to 1.9tdi not sure If that's a bad thing ?.  But it runs ok.
It's been lowered, axle flipped, Porsche tombstone seats (fitted badly) and some turbo ronall wheels.
Apart from all that it's OEM or so I believe.
But the old girl has some body issues mainly anything below the knee hight.
So I've dusted off my welding kit and made a start,  all the help you could give would be greatly appreciated.
I have had a mk4 golf for about five years as well, I did a restoration on but it didn't need all the body work😀.

Welcome along mucker.

They all rust.

It'll be worse than you think it is        :'(

All the bits for the bed are available so that's not too much of a problem. Doors are the same and as a 5 door and wings you can get without too much hassle but go for originals not re-pops.

Tailgates are ridiculously expensive so you'll need to save that though.

Rear panels are available or if it's just the arches then you can use the ones from front wings but reversed.

Thanks for the warm welcome, by luck I purchased a door from retrofication, nice guy.
Then I later realised the amount of panels he does !!.
I've been struggling with OEM panels and chops.
I brought what I thought was OEM wings but I can't find the stamp 😬. ??
Then some floor chops from a caddy drrr differentl floors …..
I'm not doing well 😂.

The 1.9 swap isnt a bad thing at all.
A good friend of mines dad has just restored an 88 caddy with a 1.9tdi from a mk3 golf, 90bhp I believe.

Goes very well and who doesn't like ronal turbos
