Mature in the sense we're aren't into the 'Max Power' end of the car marketplace but would like to look after the cars in a 'sympathetic' manner!

Whats wrong with Max Power? They have some good ideas in that mag. If you ever want to fit 4 twin DTM back boxes to the back or side of ya golf or light up the floor whilst your driving round B&Q car park they give you a good break down on how. Any way Ive got to go and burst some zits and take off my stripey jumper and hooded top .

Oddly enough, I remember buying the first edition of Max Power back in about 1991. It was quite a respectable mag back then with only 'cars' in it, as apposed to the attributes now favoured…
Cheers,
Drew.

Hey Drew. Do you still have the free baseball cap that you got with the 1st edition of Max Power? I bet it would fetch some cash on ebay.
Your right it is. I had this Micra (bubble shape) come up behind me a couple days back sounding like it had a V8 engine under the bonnet wanting to race me. I just moved over and let him go.Why botheri just thought it was a boy racer mag, btw where can i get some wide wheels. noisy exhaust, thumping stereo and go faster stripes

I usually let them pull up alongside and then gently floor the throttle…. 8)
A bit childish I know, but quite amusing to see the look on their faces. Unless you accidently come across a Vauxhall Nova with a 2.0 16v transplant, as I did last weekend ops:
Chap was actually quite complimentary about the Golf though!
Cheers,
Drew.

Had a spotty youth (no baseball cap though) in 3 cylinder Corsa try to race me yesterday, overtook me on a straight bit of road at about 60 mph :lmao: . Let him past as try not to rise to the bait, but then came up to an empty three lane roundabout and had to rub it in he was driving a heap Nova derived rubbish by driving round the outside of him .

max power boys!!
Don't know what it is that compells young lads to do it….My next door neighbours son just passed his test..Insured himself on his dads BMW, went out and fitted a ridiculous stereo without his dad even knowing then (clad in a baseball cap and Rockports) went out and reversed it into a post!! Having told me only the day earlier that he was already a better driver than his dad!! I had a quiet chuckle to myself!! His dad was more gobsmacked with the lack of space in his newly designed boot than the caved in bumper!! They are all the same….And as you get older you cant help but mutter under your breath and liken them to a womans naughty part!! Ah well……Walt!

No - its just you, you are edging towards the dark site, pretty soon you will be known as Dart Phil.
Seriously though, the mags I now read are Retro Cars which is excellent and Practical Classics which is pretty good. They have useful articles in them such as how to balance twin carbs or port and polish our own cylinder head - far better than "bolt on a K&N filter and Peco back box and you will double your power"

Was it white with a big Mesh grill and huge "NISMO" sticker accross the windscreen???
That is what I saw the other week - It too sounded like it had a turbo'd V8 or something shoe-horned into it…
