Hi Perks you are quite close to me mate!! Welcome to the mk1 family and the mk1 community.

where abouts are you based mate?
haha nice promotion there. i might do actually. im looking to do a bit of work on one, not to intense though as ive never worked on a car before
i just thought, everyone has got to start somewhere, so why not start on a car you actually want haha!

Lol makes sense….. you want to build something you wanna drive!!! I rebuilt my 1.8 8v gti engine a year ago so if you want tips I'll try and help where I can. I'm in Northants too over near Kettering.
You'll be surprised at how easy they are to work on…. I use AVP in Corby for parts but there is also a GSF in Northampton for bits and if you're a member you get 10% off… for hard to get bits and cheaper 2nd hand alternative I use funk-star on here (not selling you anything here just letting you know there are parts out there bud).

Nice one. Get yourself over to the Milton Keynes meet, first Tuesday of every month. AGM on 22nd - 24th of this month if you're going to it.
