Not sure exaclt what it is :S

hey my mate has a golf citi 1.3 from africa, he restored it and put a mk1 fornt on it. im thinkin of buyin it off him but im only 18 will it be stupidly expenisve to insure as it is import aswell?

I'm sure this has come up recently, there's a chap on here called "peddersgolf" who has one, might be an idea to send him a PM regarding this?

Unfortunatly for you it will be a tad exspensive depending on how many no claims etc you have and your history.
Anyway to save you the hassle unlike what i went through when i 1st had mine, call a company called ACADEMY insurance (0800 107 4277)  i have my car with them for 3 years, i am 33, 6 yrs no claims and live in not best of areas, rough i will say and fully comp for me is ?200.
Insurnce companies will try it on with "We'll have to put it has a 1.4, has the computer only recognises 1.4 onwards", be firm and say it is 1.3 also they will ask, is it  gl, cl, driver, just say a CL, Call them bud as others trust me are a total joke.
Apart from what i have said, give them a bell fella, saves you being screwed by others, put it this way, one company mentioning no names wanted ?900

i've also got a mk1 from south africa, it to is a 1.3 and i'm trying to find out how many are in the uk.

i've seen a white chico in swindon now i know about yours, thats if it's not the same one. saw a cti on the bay along with a sonic, and my one.

i have a chico. think yours might be a chico to if it's a 1.3

so thats 3 chico's a cti and a sonic that we know of.

just to let you know that in the mk1 chat section i found a thread about the south african citi mk1.

it's got loads of stuff about them.

seems to be a few over in the uk from what i can see.
