Greetings all,

Yesterday I went on eBay to find Polo no #4, out of interest I thought i'd do a search for a mk1 Golf, any spec, rag or tin top. During my search I came across an H plate mk1 Clipper and got a little bit weak at the knees, so anyway I won the bid on the car (I wasn't having it any other way) - I don't actually own the Golf yet, not until a couple of weeks when I pick him up and for this reason I don't think it would be right to upload any photos but some will come..  

I haven't had a good look around the forum just yet but I trust the members are as well educated as they are in my previous homes, ClubPolo & Polo3.

My knowledge of Golf's past model's and specs is limited so hopefully you guys will help if I come across problems and likewise i'll do what I can!

We're in your area as well and currently have a Cabby GTI on an '89 F-reg and a Mk2 GTI '90 H-reg (currently going through VR6 conversion). If you ever get stuck give us a shout or if your hunting for any specific parts we have loads of stuff lying around.

I'm actually shopping for parts atm, I think i've managed to find a chromed rubber for the windscreen so that could be ticked off but I cant seem to find a single light grille with the chrome surround anywhere, i'm not sure if these can be bought new from somewhere but cant seem to find one!

Scroll down this page and theres a link on the left for crazy quiffs, they sell loads of stuff new. The other one is eurowagons.com! The cost of what a new grill will be wont be much more than they go for on ebay. I'd spend the extra £ and make sure its right, especially when they sell for easy £80 second hand.

Ah, thanks again! Yeah I can imagine theyre not cheap, with them being quite rare. I'll take a look on those sites
