I'm Martin :redfaced:
Bought an 83 gti in mars red last week & now piecing together some info to fully restore the ol girl
Needs a fair bit of welding in all the usual places but doesn't look too scary (I hope)
Currently struggling for storage / workspace if anybody knows of anywhere suitable
My daily is a mk5 gti black 3 door with a few choice subtle mods (Coilovers, uprated arbs, golf ball gear knob!)
Hope to see some of you soon for some un-ashamed advice

Hey I used to own that car. If you search on the reg then you will see what I did to it when I had it
Just got back in a Mk1 myself, an 83 Cabby GTi
