New owner in the North East

Hi all,

I've been lurking on the forum for quite a while now and thought since I've just become a Mk1 owner that I'd better introduce myself!  My name is Andy and I picked up my '88 Cabrio last weekend after doing a lot of research on here.  I'm very happy with the car, the its mechanically sound with great bodywork and absolutely tons of history.  I've spent most of my evening this week stripping out and cleaning the interior and tomorrow I'll be giving the hood a good scrub - I suppose a 20-odd year old car, that's white, with a white interior and white hood is gonna have picked up a bit of muck here and there!  I've got a couple of other small things to sort on the car but nothing major, so here's hoping that we have a few final days of decent weather so I can enjoy it before putting it away for the winter!

Cheers,

Andy.

Cheers mate.  I live in Yarm near Stockton, but I'm from Durham originally and I've got family in Durham, Chester-Le-Street and Jarrow so I'm back up that way quite often.  I've currently stripped out the "white" interior and I'm attempting to revive it, I think calling mine an all white edition might be pushing it at the moment!

I'll stick some pics up shortly with any luck.

Cheers!

yeahh the white interior is a nightmare, mine was covered in oil and allsorts lol but a good valet and soaking it with the vax machine and some TFR sorted it out, well most of it anyway, there is still  few light stains off mould where the roof has leaked which i couldnt fully get out, maybe someone on here can offer up some advice with this, I live about 2 mins from chester le street so a meet up sometime would be good and we can get them rare pics :) ive also got my own tattoo studio in birtley

I've been going at the interior with a steam cleaner and its looking a bit better, with any luck I should be able to get my hands on a decent wet vacuum and give it a proper good cleaning!  There's loads of little things that I've been thinking about that I want to do to the car - I could do with taking a week off work just to play with the car!    I'm on holiday for a week soon and I don't know if I'd rather be away in the sun as planned, or stay at home tinkering with the car!

Car meets seem to be a bit hit and miss at the moment in general.  I'm also a member of the Mitsubishi Lancer Register and at the regional meet that was organised recently there there were 3 of us turned up!  Anyway, here's a couple of pics of the car.  I haven't taken any myself yet, but these are the ones taken by the lad who I bought the car from:

Cheers for the offer, got one sorted now for after I get back from holiday.  Out of interest, which TFR do you use?
