New member from lancashire

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum today. My names Simon and live in Chorley.
I bought my first VW ever a couple of weeks ago and travelled all the way to Kent to get it. It's a 1987 mk1 caddy 1.6 4 speed diesel in blue. Its a bit rough to be fair, completely standard apart from some front coilovers and could do with a bit of TLC. engine wise it's perfect and drove the 6 hour journey back without skipping a beat.
I imagine I'll be on here a lot in the future though trying to sort parts and good advice. Plans are to sort the little niggles first like fuel gauge, indicators etc, then flip the rear axel, get some nice deep dish wheels for it then start on the bodywork. Going to be a big project but think it'll be worth it.

Welcome to the site.

Keep your eyes on the Regiona section for meets and drive outs. You don't need a running car to attend a meet because you may need a part that prevents you from driving and a fellow member may have one to sell you.

Have a search for info and bits that you may nee using the facility at the top of the forum.

Ok here it is, brace yourselves as it is a bit rough at the moment. I see the potential though especially considering it's only got 35000 documented miles from new. They may of all been done on a farm but everything is fixable.
Enjoy

Restoration has already begun so may not see you at meets for a while. Plans are, new front wings and bonnet, new slam panel, possibly small bumper, flip the axel with lowering blocks, banded or weller wheels ideally 13x8, good full service then a nice respray. Bobs your aunty!
