This is a quick hello - I have just bought a 1983 Mars Red Mk1 GTi - this car will be my daily runner (don't ask how I got the wife to agree to that!)
It's a pretty sound car, but will need hints and tips to be as good as she can be.
One of the first jobs will be suspension - I want to keep the ride height close to standard and damper rates/springs quite close. I am wondering about Bilsteins and Eibach springs - any tips?
BTW - This will be my 3rd Mk1 - I owned two back in the day when they were new and always say they were the best cars I ever drove - with the exception of the one in my Avatar, but that is a whole different type of drive and another project.
