To resize you'll need some image editing software. There are loads to choose from and they all differ slightly so I cant really give a step by step guide.
If you have a recient version of Office installed then you'll probably have PhotoEditor or Microsoft Office Picture Manager already.
You will be able to resize the image to the amount of pixels allowed when uploading and compress the image to a certain file size. The size of the image allowed should be specified on the area of the site you are uploading to.
For uploading images on this site in the photo and images section, the limit is 100kb but has no specified pixel limits. For an avatar however the height of the image has been limited to 80 pixels as well as the size to 8kb
Save the altered image with a different name so you dont save over your old larger image.
Its straight forward really .
Cheers,
Ross
