mk1 from Mexico

Hello:

I am new in this forum,i live in Mexico city,and i have a golf 1986,color blue capri in my city the real name of the brand of my car is ?Caribe Gt?
This model dont have electronic inyection ,have one pierburg carburator and the machine is 1.8,i want to restore it all original, dont like me the tuning style.I want put wind deflectors and the Zender rear roof spoiler,but in my town dont sell it.I hope you can tell me where can I find this parts.I am very exciting to be in this great site.

mate i think its a mk2, the last mk1's were produced in 1983? correct me if im wrong, if your car has triangleish rear lights it is a mk2 which im pretty sure it is!

Are these like the south african citi golf ? as i thought that they stopped making the mk1 in 1983

as for the parts I recently sold my wind deflectors to a guy in mexico through ebay, seems you're not the only mecican after them  :lol:
However you could keep and eye on the for sale section on this site and post a wanted advert.

Hello Tupac and Benji for answerme ,i feel ignore,answering your questions,in my country the golf mk1 exist until 1987and the mk2 get out 1988,for the moment i dont have pictures of my car,but soon I wil do it.Benji appreciate the links that you send me,i found the wind deflectors but no the zender spoiler,I ear that exist a replica of this spoilers made in italy and in england,this information is true or false,doyou know this?;or do you can find and sellme one of this spoilers(original or replica,new or used dont matter) thanks for all and send us a big hug for your mexican friend

I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday :D

oh i see...thats very interesting...a bit like south africa then...i have seen zender spoilers go on ebay but didnt really take notice as i think they dont look good on the mk1, but i will keep a look out now for you mate

Welcome to the club. surely your car can't need much done to it. I thought Mexico would be like Greece, Spain, etc where the cars run forever and hardly ever rust :roll:

mexico has all sorts of old cars running around, was watching a program once...you seemore vintage then new cars!

More or less,there a huge numbers of vintage cars and there more number of new cars,because mexico is a big city and there many credits to buy a new and old car.In my city the people likes fix the old cars but many dont have a great style becuse putit many stickers, mufflers,and spoilers not OEM

hello welcome to the site. best holiday i had was in cancun, went on my own for  10 days, ended up in a few local clubs, locals really friendly once they knew i wasn't american. big hello to mexico!
