Ich bien ein dubber

I've joined the website having just bought a 1983 Mk1 GTi. Was planning to race it 'till I wrote off my everyday car and am now thoroughly enjoying using it every day instead. Its Rosso Corsa (ferrari) red which the enthusiasts might find a little crude but actually goes well. Took it on a 900 mile round trip to Scotland last w/e without the slightest grumble. I'm wondering what kind of oil to put in it. I've also got to get rid of the end pipe as the existing Cherry Bomb is fun but did my head in on the way to Edinburgh. Any suggestions for something a little more subtle. Any offers on the old one welcome.

Have a dig about in the exhaust section as a lot has been discussed about exhaust's most favour the standard Ernst system , quiet looks okay and cheap from GSF
