How's it going?

Hello there i am new to this site and as of tonight new to the world of series 1 small light gti's!

I have had many mk1 gtis and was lucky to come across a 1979 1600 gti as a project car.

Well anyway hello all i hope to start picking your brains with questions soon etc!

Excellent, they make a good project and the end result should be worth it.
I've seen many series 2s in a much poorer condition than a series 1 - they're not normally as rusty as people think for a 27 year old car.

I am going to start stripping it back over the weekend to get a closer look at it.
I have just had a sneaky peek around it and it might be more solid than i first thought 8)
