well in to the vw scene have been going to car shows etc - ever since i was 13! long time ago now

just got back from a great day at gti international - looking forward to gti fest this sunday!! woop - certainly is the season

I have a MK4 tdi 1.9 black for sale at the moment and am finally following my dream to buy a MK1! - i have about 1400 to spend so if anyones local or knows or one going in my price range that would be lovely or if anyone knows of anyone interested in mine for sale - its on ebay!

Hi chelle, welcome to the site !!!!!

you guna come along to the mk meet on tues, they'l be a few dif types there give you an idea of wot you like and also give you an idea on cost and condition wot you can expect to pay and the condition you can get for ya money, plus theres plenty of people there to give you advice on wot to look for things to avoid very helpfull folk there :wink:

im looking for mk1 cab ideally - have been told clipper is same as gti but cheaper on insurance? not sure how true this is so any advice is welcome!

otherwise a mk1 golf gti would be lovely - cab would be nice but we do live in england after all! its not every year we get weather like we re having at the mo!

id love to come to the meet - where is it in milton keynes?

im also going to be at gti fest at santa pod on sunday - at the moment im goin to be driving a mk2 gti there as its my friends and we dont like my mk4 (too new!!) and he wants to drink so im being taxi! shoudl be a good day!

Do you know where the Toby carver is at East Hunsbury (Just before the M1)?  That's where Zambeaky and I will be meeting so we can meet you there and head over?  Saves you getting lost.  My missus will be coming too… shaping to be a busy, busy meet!!

mines a clipper1.8 carb exacltly the same as gti but with out the premium on the insurance, check it out on "your cars & projects" and see if thats the sort of thing your looking for and no she's not for sale sadly hee.
you can get the small bumper versionbut older, and part of the reason i chose not to go for a gti was cause it was hard finding one with low miallege most of them had done like 150k+ and thats wot swayed me abit towards an auto too cause they wernt so desirable with the young lads so they aint been thrashed theliving hell out of, mines 80k genuine miles wiv all the history and i picked her up for grand cheap as chips i did take the micheal tho and really haggled wiv the guy im suprised i didnt leave with a fat lip
its all about patient searching and dont get frustrated in looking or not finding wot you want and getting to the point of buying one wen you look at thinking ah it'l do just so you can finally own its easy and tempting to do that but you'l no when you'v found the one for you.
any help or questions, more than happy to help, hope to c ya at the meet on tues day get all the free advice you can before you buy it'l save you in the long run  :wink:

yes my mum lives in east hunsbury and i work at collingtree so know it very well! -
that would be great - always good to go in convoy! what time you meeting?

chellemk1 you're right… convoy all the way in case of breakdowns… always best  :wink: .  I'll pm you my mobile number so you can call if you get stuck or are late etc.

I'm from wellingborough havent got to a meet yet cos of work and i'm in ireland agian working for this one! GUTTED,

Good man!!!  I work in Welly so you aint that far bud.  Meet us at the Toby carver on the M1 August 4th it's turning into a massive meet - honestly - an extra couple of faces each month!!

Nice one.
I've not been to a show for ages not to mention meets, only just really got mine on the road again.
Be good to get back into the scene when my job allows!

Hi Chelle, nice to have another "Northamptonian" aboard :wink:

Get yourself along to the meet as Spudfingers said, lots of
cars to look at, cabbys, tin tops, caddys etc.. all different
models, GTi, GLi, GL, modded & standard, you wont see
this many in one place very often!.
Im from "Roade" by the way, south of Northampton, not too
far away.
