Hiya !!

Have finally got round to joining !  I've owned my  Golf Mark 1 GTi from new !  I actually drove it out of the Dovercourt showroom in St.John's Wood on 18th February 1983 and still remember the excitement and thrill it gave me;  something I still experience today when I drive it.  I am not an expert or a mechanic and so have always had it serviced by VAG dealers; I still have the original service schedule booklet with all the dealers stamps for every year !!  It's part of the family now - and I couldn't bear to part with it - silly I know !    It's not been modified in any way; the body, engine and interior are all original together with the following optional extras:
Black metallic paint (yes! it was an optional extra in those days !) green tint glass, sun-roof, twin head-lamp with washers and 12-year under seal warranty !!!  3-door/1800 DX engine.  It's still in very good condition - although would probably benefit from some expert attention in some areas  ;-) Well,  that's about all !
