Hi'yall
Hi all,
My names Tom and have just become the owner of a Mk1 Golf GX. Just joined the club the other night so am paid up for the year!
Have owned only a couple of classic so far, 1969 Morris Minor 1000 and then swapped her for a 1962 Riley Elf (bit like a Mk1 Mini cooper with a longer bonnet and a boot)! Currently in the process of getting it MOT'd so the Elf can get sold an the Golf can live in the garage. If anyone's interested or knows anyone who wants one please let me know! She's a tidy runaround!
Was sort of introduced to the scene by my mate Craig (Dublove) who convinced me (very easily!!!) that a Mk 1 Golf was the best way to go for a second car.
Only problems I've had with the GX so far is sometimes the revs drop off a bit when coming up to a junction. If I'm doing about 2000 revs then put the clutch in sometimes the revs drop way down and nearly cut out the engine. Any ideas??? It only happens intermittently.
Any way, looking forward to gettin around to some shows. Used to get to Stanford hall dub show religiously a few years back!
All the best
Tom
