Hi there efellow Mk 1 owners...
Hello , I am new to your forum but a regular visiter to the site and part of the Worcester Club GTI where I post under the same name..
I have two campaigns listed with the register and own two mk1s at the moment after selling the third one earlier this year. I also have a Rallye Golf and a UR quattro.
My Campaign is a Helious blue car and I am the 3rd owner it has a genuine 137k miles on it and a lot of history. It is currently half way through a full restoration, it is now ready for rubbing down and painting; once I find a body shop to do it.
The other mk 1 is a Black A reg non campaign without a sunroof or tinted glass and now it is ready for some track day action after being stripped out. It was always bought with this in mind as it has a few dents and 300k miles but does have a mot after some welding and all new brake lines and hoses were fitted along with a recon engine..(it did only cost ?180 after all)
My girlfriend also has a campaign, a diamond silver one which was my second campaign and fourth Mk1 it has with 18k pounds worth of history including the original bill of sale after a full rebuild and brand new engine were fitted and it is completely standard as will my blue one be when done. It was used by South Hereford Garages at the launch of the Mk5 Golf.
Thats a bit about the fleet and I look forward to being part of a like minded forum.

yeah they are an awesome car and practical too! bit like a mk1GTI but unfortunatley Audi dont seem to want to make parts for it anymore and its not like a Mk1 where somebody has something to fit as there were only around 11thousand imported..

You wont regret owning one…until you need some spares The handling is like nothing else.. I have driven a quattro TT and both saloon and estate imprezzas and it is king over them…plus it isnt all that noisy so my GF doesnt mind it

the guy who used to live next to me had the pearl coloured one, had 10k on the clock and was as clean underneath as on top! he then sold it for an evo 6… stupid man!
got any closer pics of the mk1? looks very clean!

work looks good, have you got genuine wings to put on? I don't recommend using pattern ones, just fitting them to mine and to be honest I'm not happy with the fit in the slightest!
that should easily last another 10 years
will you be spraying it yourself or sending it to a bodyshop? If your good at prep work, getting a good finish is easy

I am looking to get it to a body shop, When I find one! I will be stripping it myself but leave the rubbing to some one else as I dont get the time I should. As for the wings they are pattern parts but when offered up in place seem to sit fine.. how ever before it goes in no doubt some genuine wings will be put on instead.
