Hi all newbie from stirling
Hi all, i've had my mk1 for almost 6months and thought it time to join a forum.
It's a 84 cab gti in grey.
Found the car on flea bay and saved it in a state of disrepair.
After a few months hard work i got her going.
Car's mot'd and tax'd but kept of the road this winter.
Still to finish is the interior, hood and fuelling then she's good to go for the summer.
I think i've put a picture up but not entirely sure if i've done it right.

welcome to the club, nice looking clipper
dont forget for just £15 a year you can become a paid member and save lots on parts etc with the discounts you get, really helps when your doing these cars up :-)
dunno what you need to do with roof as looks fairly good in pics, but i have an electric roof frame good rear window and frame and 2 x white headliners for sale at mo, check the for sale section
Cheers

Hi mate, lovely looking motoe and hope you are around next year as I will be organising a few meets up here at the various car shows so we can all get together and have a crack and share advice etc
Look in the regional forum and I have a thread going there for Scottish meets which I will update throughout the winter and get it in gear for the better weather
Cheers Chris

Thanks for your feedback guys.
I absolutely love the car, definitely a long time keeper, doubt i would part with her.
The roof is completely porous and the frame is pretty badly rusted, all seals are cracked, i'm pretty sure it's the original. The previous owner had used black silicone to seal the roof shut. Give's you an idea of his handy work.
Other than the rust in the frame she is completely rust free, not a spot anywhere else!
When i've got the funds i'm going to be looking for a new frame, black headliner, padding (think that's the name for it) and a black mohair skin.
The interior is needing replaced with original and the fuelling is a case of a new lift pump i hope, will find out on sunday when i fit it.
I've put coilovers on the car since i took that picture so she's sitting a lot lower now.
I'm aiming to keep her as standard as possible.
Fitted a refurbished DX engine, gearbox and all new ancillaries as the last one had blown. So engine and transmission wise she's faultless.
If any one knows of any interior, hood or exhaust components for sale let me know.

How much would you be looking for for the frame?
