Hi all, great site!

Hi fellow MK1 owners

Just read the welcome splash, and think I could well fit in here  

I'm a (cough) mature owner (bus pass coming up soon  :wink: ) with a MK1 GTi. I bought it brand spanking new in '81, thinking I might keep it for a couple of years - but fell in love with it and, well, here we are, still going strong after 25 years. Might this be a record?

hi welcome to the site, great to hear you have had the car so long, testamony to how great these cars are. do you still get a grin when driving ,or as you walk away from it in a car park take a second look back ? be nice to see some pics.

Great to have another original owner here. Do you have any 80's pics of the car you can scan and post up here? (Sporting the latest fashions of course!)
