hey there never though id be a mk1 owner

hi all just thought id drop in and say hello. nice forum and site you have here. my real name is chi and i own 2 dubs which are a 83 mk1 gti 1.8 8v gti and a 90 mk2 1.8 20v turbo.

i am having the mk2 built atm and the mk1 is my daily but i have plans for it. got the mk1 2 days ago and i have fallen in love with it. i have stuck my OZ turbos on it and will be having it fully set up at "The Phirm" hopefully soon. and having it lowered next week. but i wanna keep it std as poss im just gone change the wheels. my big plans are for a Full respray in mars red and have the engine rebuild and deck it on 7.5j bbs rms.

the guy i got it off gave me a book full of recipts amounting to 5k and all prev MOT's back to 83 and a fully stamped VW book up to 99 then records of service at a local garage. hope you like it

unfortunatly yes but im gone put 7.5 bbs rms on the mk1 wanna keep it real OEM+

I'm all for OE but those wheels really set the car off.

Nice example mate, unusual (I think) to see one that's not a campaign with the metal sunroof option. Most had cheap glass roofs added

Agree that the wheels really do suit the car Shame they're not staying on there!
