Hey everyone,

Just took the plunge and got my first Mk1. A 1984 Cab Gti. Afetr a 4 hour round trip last night the deposits paid on her and pick her up saturday. Thought i'd say hi here as im sure i'll be pestering you guys for information and tips   Will update with pics as soon as i get her back. Needs a little work bless her but we will get there.

I recently got my dream car too in feb ive had to put ALOT of time and money into my 1988 gti cab but cant wait till she`s done.
totally rebuilding her! thought when i bought her all she needed was cosmetic until my dad got it over the pit different story!! lol replaced everything possible underneath as i want my car to last  forever with me waited long  to get her all she needs now is her front valence,wing, new wheels as her old one`s where original but will cost me way to much to get them referbished at this time so gonna buy some BBS i think. the cars having a repray same colour, im really buzzing for you mate its a great feeling just looking at mine never mind driving her one day soon. good luck with yours.

Ah great   the one ive just got hold of only looks like cosmetic stuff needs doing too. Better cross my fingers for that one  :? Im sure it will be fine. I have faith in the old girl. Here's some pics for those who are interested. As you can see from the pics the front wing needs painting the right colour   And also the interior needs some tlc.
Quick question for anyone in the know are the wheels in the pic original?

Hi and welcome to the site.

Pretty sure they are original wheels for the year.

Awesome stuff. Thanks very much. Will probably get these wheels refurbed then. Wonna try and keep things as original as possible. Also whilst this thread is rolling anyone know where i can get that seat fixed maybe full retrim if needed. Thanks in advance again.
