Hi Everyone. Obviously i am new here
am currently in the market for a mk1 gti, this seemed like the place to be to find one (already seen a couple i am interested in on here)
Just as soon as i have sold my 1986 mk2 Fiesta XR2 ….

Maybe if i stick a VW badge on the front of my XR2 i could have a few runs :p

and maybe (just maybe) i will see the VW of my dreams and have to take it home with me

Definately looking for a tin top, never fancied a cabrio really. In an ideal world i will have a series 1 (think thats right) with the small rear lights and no sun roof, i have aspirations to make it look something like this …



but perhaps without the roof rack and the spot lights

However as it seems quite difficult to find a small light model (only one i have seen so far is on ebay and has a fuel cap on the tail gate which i am unsure about) i would probably happily settle for the series 2
Performance wise i have yet to learn about various engine specs (see the term PB thrown around a bit) but i wanna go for a highly uprated N/A set up, possibly 2.0 16v on throttle bodies and tapers or something like that
but gotta get the car first before i start worrying about all that jargon

Hope the sandman brings me my dream Mk1 sometime soon anyway
