hello - new to the club but not to VW's

Hi all, just to say hello to all, my name is Simon, most people call me si. I may be new to this club but not to VW's had loads of them - most being Mk1's and Mk1 cabs over the last 10+ years.

Currently have a 1983 VW golf Cab GLi - project car - complete restore - to standard spec with only a few min mod's. I've also got a 1992 VW Golf cab GTI - with low mileage - again doing some restore on this car - but keeping standard - but it's the daily driver for me and looking to buy a Mk1 campaign because I can….  

It great to see at last a club that is focusing only on the Mk1's even though I do love the other VW models I'm a Mk1 golf man..

Hope to speak to you all at some point via form, at meets or VW shows.

Hello and welcome, Simon . Great to see long-term VW coming to the forum as well as newcomers. Post some pics of your cars, particularly interested to see the restored GLI.

hi Mark, I sure will - the old Skool GL is in a very bare situation at the moment in the garage. Pictures will available over the weekend.

Welcome Si, think you've picked the best time to by a Campaign.. seems there's quiet a few Mk1's popping up for sale recently, some campaign's and some not!

get some pic's up of your car, love to see other people's projects in they're worst state and seeing them get built back up 8)

I know your website well, but not needed any parts yet, but if I do I'll go there first.  

I did have a healthy stash of goods about 4 years ago - cleared out all parts as past car - Mk1 cab - was mint in every way so didn't need parts (wish I had kept some of them - complete loom for mk1 camp, old skool dashboard - round dails, interior, etc, etc…. never mind)

My biggest issue at the moment is trying to find the arch covers for my 92 golf clipper kit (screw from arch to front and rear bumpers) can't find them anywhere - so if someone can help - I can then use the car again…

I've uploaded a picture of my old skool 83 Golf cab Gli - before it was taken apart…. (waiting on admin/mod's to approve)
