Hello from up north!! (Newcastle way!)

Hi,
I used to dip into this forum a few years back but what with one thing and another i haven't used my old golf as much as i would have liked for the past couple of years.

Just wondering if there's any owners out there near me in the tyne/wear,newcastle,durham area?

Planning to get the old girl out of storage in next few weeks,blow the cobwebs off and take her for a spin!

I've had the car for 17 years  8O,it's pretty standard apart from koni/eibach suspension and the bbs rm splits.It's a nov 83 mk1 gti,i always assumed it wasn't a campaign as it doesn't have a sunroof but the chassis number is dw580793 so not sure.

We are looking to set up a meet in carlisle, not too far away an hour or so, good run out for the old girl, posted a shout out for people around in the real north (not 2.5hours e.g South/Liverpool/Leeds/Manchester)    lol but all are welcome, bloody southeners they need to come to terms that they live in the midlands, anyhow :posh: if your up for it give me a shout and tell people around, see if they'd be up for it
