hello from the fens

Hi all, im fairly new to the Mk1 scene, after travelling to Worthesee and the Nurburgring last year with two mates in mk1 golfs, i knew i wanted to do a project of my own so here she is



I bought it from Leeds in June last year and with the help of my mates weve been slowly getting it ready hopefully for the Worthesee trip this year, so far it had many new panels front and rear, and some welding to the rear chassis mount, heres a pic of mid restoration and finished..




Since then the front end has had similar treatment, so now its time for the fun, ABF engine on R1 carbs, I hope to be bringing it to the MK1 owners club meeting this year. last year was great, but i want to do the convoy in the driver seat this year  , cheers all for reading, ill get a proper build thread up soon

hi ya i traveled to chatteris from norwich most days for 3 years working on a building site i took a different rout home one night and went through welney wash on a very wet and windey evening  :eek:
