Hello from Ipswich / Hampshire

recently just bought my first Mk1, no stranger to the VW scene though, after a mk2 VR6, a Mk3 VR6, and a MK4 20vt, I decided I would get the original golf.

It's a 1983 3 door 1.6, however bored out to 1.8, Mars red and fully restored with a bare metal respray,  

lots and lots of very nice touches, small chrome bumpers, wolfsburg extras, original wolfsburg steering wheel etc etc, will try uploading photo's when I get used to the site a bit better, however know one of your members Jonp saw me driving it back down the M1,

Will be hopefully picking your guys brains for info too, need to re-wire the dash clocks in as most of the dials are screwed and there is no lights on the dials- was interesting trying to drive it bac in the dark haha, but yeah, I'll shut up now

welcome to the forum Woody, plenty of advise and some very knowledgeable people around to, if you need parts insurance etc why not become a paid member you will probably save the money on insurance alone

andover, live most of the time in Ipswich though, only come back to hants to see family. I have heard of berkshire MK1's though. and been to a few berkshire dubbers meets too, but thans for the welcome.
