thanks, yes i will change the wheels eventually, once the mrs is used to driving it. i also want to change the grille for one with a red edge to it and replace the silver stripes down the sides. there are a few bit interior wise which are nigleing at me atm, but all in good time.

hi mr gti, what was your user name? sorry to hear about your scoob. yup im still on scoobycity. the ol scoob is a bit poorly, i threw some cash at it last year as she wasnt running right and got her to go from 220bhp to 294bhp, but then the clutch went, so replaced that 5 weeks ago just to pop the engine two days later she is down in colchester atm having the bottom end rebuilt, hope to have her back this week. the mrs wont be drivung the golf for long as i need her to run the scoob in as she does about 70 miles per day where as i only do about 10, and its got to be driven at 3000rpm for 2000 miles

I used to post on there as Mr_Scooby I'm still registered and every now and then have a look about on the site, I will at some point in the not too distant future own another wrx as they are awesome and I really miss mine  . I remember shelling out nearly 3k when my engine went pop still no regrets but it was painful running it in just remember not to stick at the same speed - don't sit at 60 on the motorway for 100 miles it won't do you any good - town driving was best, low speed and lots of gear changes mean the revs are always varied

yup, its my neighbours, think it an 88/89 model, has the electronic cooling fan that comes on after the engine is switched off. not a bad line up outside my house even if i do say so myself.

ive heard so many horror stories about R5's, but he's had this one for over 5 years and not a single problem with it other than the usual wear and tear (brakes, tyres etc etc).
