Got myself a Swallowtail...
I originally found the golf in a barn about 4-5 years ago. Though sold her to Stu early last year, she's now back in my posession.
Anyway, i have tons of photos from ages ago, though these are from this morning.
Here is a sneaky peek of my new motor from our office block.
It's a 1975 Golf LS Automatic on twin 40 carbs.
Can you tell which one it is yet…..
Getting closer…
This one was taken with 2x digital zoom so that's why it's crappy

Did that car also belong to a guy called johno by anychance? Looks like one I remember from my strathycruise days!
Kami, i first bought the car a few years ago, though don't remember the name of the blokey, he was also from Northwich though, well Hartford to be precise.
I shall upload more pics when i go out and take some. Done plenty of driving of the old girl though!!

i didn't think you could run twin carbs mounted on the back??? how do they get cold air? cos i couldn't see any ducting to feed air to the back of the engine bay.
i wanted to put twin carbs on mine, but being a 1.8 the carb is on the bcak, same as yours…
cheers.

One day wouldn't mind fitting a cross flow head, though not sure whether the 2.0 cross flow beetle head would fit the 1500 block… something to look at in the future.
It's not the ideal solution as they're right on top of the exhaust manifold so gets pretty warm there!!
