After a couple of weeks of viewing the site I thought it was about time I joined up and said hello.

I currently own a MK4 GTI but have decided to replace it with a MK1. I still have to sell mine but have been looking about for a while now to get a feel of prices and conditions, so any advise would be appriciated. I won't be spending all the MK4 earnings on the Mk1 as I have debts to clear first, but should have about 1.5 grand to play with. Hoping this should be enough for a reasonable condition one with little work needed or a light restoration one.

Anyway, looking forward to being a MK1 owner and chatting with you all.

Hi and welcome . You won't regret replacing the mk4 with a mk1. You should get a reasonable GTI with solid body for the amount you have to spend. Plenty of people here to give any advice e.t.c you may want in your search.

Cheers mate. As much as I like the comfort of my MK4 it isn't giving me the driving experience that I crave. I just have to sort out the door pins on it and then get it in Autotrader. I'm going to put it up for a little under what it is worth in a hope to get a quick sale.
