AYUP
ayup have just joined today
i currently have a clio 16v but have always loved the mark one golf so have now decided to sell up on the valver and have a golf of my very own, as soon as my clio sells i will be looking for one so if somebody could point me in the right direction that would be great
im gonna go for a totally standard one so i can make it "my own" car as ive always bought projects that are almost done and i just dont feel like ive achieved anything out of it!
can somebody please tell me what the usual engine mods and trasplants are please
anyways hope to get to know u all better
Cheers

Hello & welcome, First of all good choice. Ill let one of the others explain transplants etc. As for what goes wrong… . anything can, most are 20+ yrs old! But the engine is so basic and easy to work on (with a Haynes) its all part of the fun.
Enjoy.

I think the engine transplants of choice are the g60 units from corrado's, 1.8 16v, 2.0 8v/16v, 1.8t, and vr6 lumps!
I know nothing about these, but im sure the others will point u in the right direction!
