Another New guy*now with pics!*
Just got myself a lovely Lhasa Green gti - very proud! The previous owner pointed me in your direction and mentioned how helpful this site is..
So you guys can look forward to lots of posts asking for help when things go wrong! (First thing being it runs a bit hot!)

Not sure he ever posted but i believe he did register the car….
As soon as i get home tonight from work (got to love browsing forums at work) i can get some pics uploaded.
Hope you theory test goes well today chrissie……
PS - have looked for stuff on overheating - previously there was a hole in the water tank. A new expander replaced it and it is fine while driving along… however as soon as it gets into traffic the needle creeps up to the about where the red light bulb is. Could this be due to the fan not cutting in correctly? (prob should post this in the engine forum as well hehe) It has not started flashing since the expander was replaced but still strikes me as sitting a little bit too high. any thoughts?

Sounds OK to me, My series 1 sits right over towards the right on the gauge and has never boiled over yet.
the fan depending on the sensor fitted won't come on until as late as 97 degrees c.
As long as you can here the fan running and after a while cuts out you're fine

Welcome! If you know the previous owners user name you can search his old posts and get an honest history of the car!
Thanks for this Hairyarse - i bought it off Grant. He has made more posts than i originally thought on the site - so i have read a few hehe. He is a good mate though and i know how well he looked after the car.
It is a lovely motor - i noticed he never managed to get any pics up himself so i will try and get some asap (preferebly when it is not raining!).
Like him - i am very happy to have been pointed in the direction of this site. Lots of great info and even better - lots of nice people!
